Ride

Riding a mount makes transportation a lot easier, especially when travelling long distances. The better you know how to control your mount, the longer both you and your animal can go before you need to rest. Great agility and an iron will are quite important when learning this skill.

Mechanics

  • Control: Very short people trying to ride animals much larger and heavier than themselves will have some trouble controlling their mounts.
  • Fatigue: Riding a horse is tiring. Expert riders can gauge a mount's fatigue by looking at it; otherwise, the rider will notice it in their prompt.
  • Terrain: Certain indoor and outdoor areas may restrict or allow riding.

Commands

  • ride <mount>: Mount and ride the animal.
  • dismount or lead: Get off the mount.
  • ride: Attempt to ride any previously ridden mounts in the area.
  • ride behind <someone>: Ride with someone else on their mount.
  • change autoride: Set whether to automatically ride or lead when your leader decides to.
  • tell <mount> come here: Some well-trained mounts will find you if you are nearby.
  • abandon: Abandon the mount you previously led.
