A blackened bolt is a type of crossbow ammunition, darkened in appearance and lighter than a standard bolt. It is fired from crossbows using the Missile weapons skill.

Its accuracy is poor, and it inflicts very little damage upon hitting. It weighs about an ounce.
Being lighter than a standard bolt, blackened bolts are easier to carry in quantity. They deal less damage than metal-cased bolts and are compatible with the light crossbow and crossbow. They may be favoured by dark-side players due to their appearance.
